Ruslan Provodnikov to fight Jose Reynoso – Boxing News
After Nick Casal was attacked brutally a few weeks back, his upcoming opponent Ruslan Provodnikov is now scheduled to face Mexican Jose Reynoso. Earlier in the day, Ruslan had to take Nick Casal on June 29 but now Ruslan will face Reynoso.
Ruslan currently stands with 21 wins, 1 loss and 14 knockouts in his portfolio, whereas his now opponent Reynoso stands with 16 wins, 1 loss and 2 knockouts. It should be noted here that Reynoso is a crowd favourite in California. He is coming to fight Ruslan
with a streak of 7 undefeated fights behind him. When asked about the opportunity, Reynoso delightedly remarked, “Let’s make the fight happen.”
For now, the venue for the fight has not been decided but will soon be announced.
On the other hand, Nick Casal is recovering from his injuries. He was taken to the Buffalo Hospital right after he was attacked. Luckily, he suffered no brain damage but just severe deep cuts. According to the doctors, the pugilist will make rapid recovery,
since no injury is internal. When asked, Nick’s father said, “It's miraculous actually. Even the doctor was shocked. For him to come out of it with no problems, it's unheard of.”
Nick suffered the attack in Niagara on Saturday morning. Since he was found to be severely injured, the match was immediately cancelled. Further adding, Nick’s father stated, “Nick started walking with her to the car, and all of a sudden he said, 'Her eyes
got real big,' and he got hit, boom.”
For now, Casal is recovering in the hospital, whereas his opponent is now scheduled to face Reynoso. The match meant a lot to Nick, as it was his big opportunity to make it to the top. However, after the devastating incident, Nick is in no shape to get in
the ring. It will probably take him a while to recover and be on his toes. However, it is not confirm yet as to whether Nick will be able to box again or not. Since his skull was not fractured and no brain injuries were found, there are chances of him fighting
again soon.
