Russ Franklin joins ROW as head swimming coach – Swimming news
President of Region of Waterloo Swim Club (ROW), Tracy Bennett, announced that Russ Franklin will now perform his duties as a head swimming coach for ROW. Franklin has a long-term coaching experience of 35 years.
While speaking about the induction of Franklin as head coach, Bennett said, “We are looking forward to having Russ lead our Club. It's our 35th year serving the Community. Russ knows our history and with his experience, the opportunity and potential is here in Waterloo for more success!"
Franklin worked as a head swimming and diving coach at the Pointe Claire Swim Club for many years. More importantly, he coached both junior and senior level athletes in Canada. He helped his association in winning many unique titles in swimming and diving. Franklin gave inspirational lectures on competitive swimming to his students for many years.
Over his new appointment as head coach, Franklin said, “Over the years I have been fortunate to work with a lot of talented, hard working athletes that I have developed from the Novice level to the National Level. I like to think Long Term for each swimmer which allows them to develop at their own pace to reach their full potential as an athlete and a person.”
He further told that the ROW Swim Club is a well-known association, who have sheer talent along with professional swimmers.
Bennett said that his club is pleased and happy with the hiring of Russ Franklin. He described the move as an exciting moment for Ontario, as Franklin has years of experience in coaching, which will help their swimmers to prepare well for upcoming competitions.
While speaking about the staff at ROW Swim Club, Franklin said that the association certainly has an experienced and accomplished staff of coaching, which he is looking forward to work with. He added that the facilities in the club are excellent and worth mentioning.
Franklin said that his family members are extremely happy and pleased with his decision to join the club as a head swimming coach. He will now be serving in Waterloo, Ontario.
