Russanda Elliot wins the Grade A2 462m race – Greyhound Racing Update
Russanda Elliot won the Grade A2 462 meters Greyhound Race at Kinsley on, January 6, 2012. The victory earned him a cash prize of £65.
Trained by E T Parker, Russanda Elliot, was the favourite to win the race with a starting price of 5 to 4. He lived up to the expectations by winning the race in 28.06 seconds. He had started the race from trap number five.
The winning hound was born in September, 2007 to Droopys Maldini out of Loyal Princess.
Farran Master, also had a very good race, as he gave a tough time to Russanda Elliot. The second placed dog broke from trap number three, and covered the entire distance in 28.19 seconds.
V Birtles, trainer of Farran Master, would have been pleased with the outcome. His dog had a starting price of 3 to 1 and was expected to give an impressive performance.
Farran Master is the son of Kinloch Brae out of Foggy Blue Bell, and was born in February, 2009.
Ballymac Bernard, followed in next, who finished in third place. He gave a tough time to the eventual runner up, finishing just 0.02 seconds adrift, after breaking from trap number one.
Ballymac Bernard, trained by R Fletcher, had the same starting price as Farran Master (3 to 1) and covered the race distance in 28.21 seconds. He is the son of Ballymac Kewell out of Ballymac Jacqui, and was born in October, 2008.
Born In Kerry, who was one of the least favourites to win the race, ended up in fourth place. Her trainer, P C Thwaites, would have been pleased with the result, as the b***h had a starting price of 11 to 4. She broke swiftly from trap number six,
and covered the overall distance in 28.28 seconds.
Born In Kerry is the daughter of Droopys Scolari out of Forest Emma, and was born in May, 2010. She was the youngest of all the hounds in the race.
Finishing fifth in the race was, Bird Eye View. He had a starting price of 11 to 4, and covered the distance in 28.38 seconds, after breaking from trap number 4.
Bird Eye View is trained by R Thompson and is the son of Droopys Scolari out of Forest Emma.
Mays Abbey, who had a pretty decent starting price of 3 to 1, completed the order of finish, covering the race distance in 28.44 seconds. He is also trained by R Thompson and started from trap number five.
It was a good race overall and there were no surprises in the end, with the favourite dog winning comfortably.
