Russia, Moscow or St petersburg?

Which is best to visit, Moscow or St Petersburg? Please tell me

Never been to Europe before but I would like to start from Either those two destination. :) I have 1.5 Months to visit backpack Europe. I don't know where to begin or how to go about this trip. :/ sigh

Any input would be kindly appreciated.

St.Petersburg. I visited both cities and St.Petersburg was much more interesting then Moscow.
