  1. Because the west treats them like step children, remember the old saying, keep your friends close but your enemies closer?

  2. No surprise there, they have too much money invested there. I have a sneaking suspicion that Russia, at least has been bankrolling Mugabe, it always was their policy to keep things in ferment in Africa, much to the chagrin of the west !

  3. because of the financial trading they do with zimbabwe, wouldn't want to miss out now would they.

  4. For the same reason that China supports the terrorists in Darfur.

They are desperate for any commodities such as oil etc to feed their unchecked and rampant population growth.

China is supplying arms, including fighter/bomber aircraft to the government in Darfur which is against the UN's arms embargo.

They attempted to land arms in S. Africa which were destined fo Zim. They are being allowed to hold an olympics so that the world can be conned into viewing them as a peaceful and valuable member of the international community  when nothing could be further from the truth.

Russia, (though presently militarily inadequate), has not lost it's urge to be a world player on the international scene.

They too will allow and condone crimes against humanity as long as it further their own greed for commodities.

  5. They have financial considerations to take into account.
