Russia and china???????

Question

why is thinking russia and china are the new super powers the new "cool thing" to say? also why is being patriotic towards russia also cool when they committed genocide causing 50,000,000 deaths, and this wasnt a long time ago only about 80 yrs i think.

New Superpowers? I dont think so. I still regard the US as the Superpower and unfairly, the most criticized too.  The world should be glad that China has risen to what it's now at least their billions of people will spare the UN Program on feeding the hungry.  Russian power lies on their nuclear weapons but their sphere of influence has somewhat diminished after the states composing USSR had became independent--some even joined NATO which is identified with the US.

I would not think it is the cool thing to say but they are super powers.

When push comes to shove the USA, Russia or China has enough nuclear weapons in its country to end the world.

Just one of the countries, not all of them combined.

You bury Russia before time.

During more than millennial history our country was many times defeated (almost always on diplomatic, but not at the military front), but always rose and punished any aggressor on his merits. In 1917-21, when Russia was split and devastated civil war, who did expect a victorious voyage Red Army against half-Europe in 1944-45 and occupation many European countries on many decades?

Wait our cossackes and our tanks in Paris, such as in 1815.

China's obviously a super power. There's no disputing that. They have the strongest military, nuclear weapons, a billion people, and the world's fastest-growing economy. How can you dispute that?

But Russian? If ever they were a super power, it's when they were the Soviet Union. They're still more powerful than *most* of the world, but I wouldn't call them a super power. (And genocide is not cool!)

Edit: I didn't say they had the BEST military. I said they had the strongest. They have the most soldiers, which is how I came that that conclusion.

Nor did I say they have the BEST nuclear weapons, only that they HAD nuclear weapons. And a lot of them.

It was less than 80 years ago, and it is cool around the world because it is anyone but the USA. The jealousy towards us from the "former powers" is intense.

Ya I think that the US would win any war aginst both China and Russia.....althoguht I don't want it I think that America would beat them all i mean come on Russia has a out of date military...a c**p economy  and they don't even got numbers I mean the Us had *2 the population fit for military serveice....but you wrong about china their gdp is almsot 7 trillion today so......but we could beat China to we have way to many alluies we have India backing us that evens out the numbers and by 2030 their economy ill only have caught up yo ours.....but China isn't stupid if theres nothing in it for them they won't get involved so if russia were to start a war with the US and/or our allies China wouldn`t help them
