  1. It is about the control of the shipment of oil and gas from Central Asia to the West.  That makes it, potentially, quits an important squabble.  Russia will back down soon, but they will have made their point.

  2. I am not sure, but we can't police everybody when we can't take care of ourselves.

I say this would not have happened if Bush would not have made a deal to put nukes in Chezkoslavakia which is on Russia's south border.  I think this is Russia's way of saying kiss my a$$.

We need to take care of home first.

We need to take care of home first.

  3. We'll lob a few rhetorical support bombs and issue a salvo of UN sanctions, then call it a day.... the same way we left the Czechs and Hungarians high and dry in the 50s and 60s when they too were getting the beat down by the Ruskies after they had pleaded for western support.....

  4. Well today Prez. Bush "warned" Russia etc etc. But in addition to being $hit scared of the Russians, it'll also be very hypocritical of the US to get involved, because of our past little dealings with Serbia regarding Kosovo, which as we all know pi$$ed Russia off more than anything.

If you think abt it, we got involved in the same situation in Serbia, (with Russia trying to be on the one-country/ sovereignity of a sovereign-nation side then and on the Russian origin citizens side in Georgia), but we were on the opposite side of the story. How can we get involved in this matter now and take Georgia's side, just because the Georgian government is pro-US, and expect them not to be ticked off, when we were whole-heartedly for complete separation of Kosovo without even trying to make those people get along?

Also, we have more enemies now than ever before, and some of them pose an equal if not greater threat than we pose to them. They also have alot of things that they think needs to be avenged, and Europe is richer than us now, and Russia never gave a c**p what we thought, and have always been very powerful.

President Bush wouldn't want to exit with another half started war. But if he thinks a democrat is gonna win, he still might leave the extra c**p to him. But so many of our children have died already and he's abt to win the worst president ever award, so I dunno.

War with Russia now, would be a bad, bad, bad idea. We shouldn't get involved with these little countries just to p**s other countries off. Anger and provocation built up over decades, with increasingly strong enemies could come and bite us in the a$$.

  5. Having bombed Iraq and Afghanistan there's not much that the USA can say about some one else behaving the same way.

  6. They could take over the country and make it a puppet state.  I think there would be problems with freedom fighters afterwards especially towards the energy industry.  Staying out would be prudent for the US but more input from europe is needed as they are the ones who would benefit from the energy (as well as russia).  Besides when did russia really care about world opinion??  I think they only used to pay lip service to world opinion to gain something out of it.
