what is up with russia they just keep making the bigest wars ...im scared...they will terorize poland AGAIN! AND atack us.......why?

russia is only recognizing their south ossetian allies as a country. nothing more. the only person wanting war is anyone that does not oppose the genocide of these filthy georgians.

The Russian people were angry that the west no longer treated them with the same respect that they got when they were a superpower just like the Germans were after their revolution kicked out the Kaiser and just like the Germans, they turned to the fascists who promised to return Russia to its former empirical glory.  Putin retains his power by feeding on this anger and to stay dictator, he has to produce results even with a weak military (however, a quickly improving one - again, just like Hitler).  The model is there in Hitler and Putin's history has been near carbon copy so your fear is, unfortunately, well founded.  Even though Europe has not learned from its past and again is trying to appease Hitler (err, I mean Putin), Russia's actions will cause a new world war eventually.  At some point, with Russia half occupied, it'll probably turn nuclear unless a revolution topples the current fascist Russian government.

What else do they want?  World domination, wealth, Poland, the Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Livonia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Slovakia, et al.

what everyone fails to understand is that what the US did would be the same as russia putting interceptor missiles in cuba just 90 miles off of our coast we almost had world war 3 because of a situation just like this most of you were not around back then so I will let you know that it got bad enough to have nuclear attack drills in the schools and every other family was in the process of building a bomb shelter this is serious don't think for one minute that we should blow this off Russia rightly fears that the US will put it into a position of being dominated through nuclear annihilation

Russia was once a powerful country. With their in ability to make communism work their soviet empire fell apart. Russia is now on the mends, making more money (oil) and is becoming powerful again. It hurt them to lose so much of their old empire. As they regain their strength they will start to take back those old republics as they can especially if there is important natural or political resources available. No need to fear them attacking the US, it isn't in their interest to do so.
