I'm not surprised but I am surprised no one remembers Russia threatening Ukraine with nuclear retaliation in February 2008. Long before the current Georgia attack.

Russia already deployed new missile systems to their northwest regions capable of intercepting aircraft or missiles up to 3500 kilometers. How easily would it be to reprogram those systems to target ground targets?

No, just the result of another unbelievably idiotic thing George Bush has done, which is try to sneak in anti-Soviet weapons system while pretending it's for terrorists.  Bush had no business trying to install them in Eastern Europe and the Russians are rightfully pissed.

We were at peace with Russia and have been for a long time. This is a provacative act and it's all Russia needed to get the hawks back in power.

d**n it now the russians have figure out Bush has told so many lies and all of his Allies are picking leaders that will not deal with him. The Russians have no one to stop them. We are all spread out with all we can handle in two little countries how would russia ever take us serious. They we do what ever they want they are still a power to be reckoned with
