Russia promises to provide top class circuit for 2014 Russian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
The event organisers of 2014 Russian Grand Prix have promised to provide a top class race track as per the terms and conditions of the Formula One Management.
There has been a reorganisation of regional government in Russia and it has been reported that the ongoing project of a circuit in Sochi may be delayed. However, Mikhail Kapirulin, the director general of Omega which is the company behind the construction of the circuit, has recently expressed that they have resolved all the ongoing issues and are trying their best to complete the scheme as soon as possible.
Moreover, he said that they are constructing the track along with their colleagues who have been designing and building event complexes in Sochi for the upcoming Olympics. He also said that they are confidently looking forward to provide an A-class circuit for hosting the race event.
“We solved all the problems in projecting the track,” he said. “We're building the track in tight co-operation with our colleagues, who are building Olympic venues in Sochi. It makes us confident that we will build a top-class racing track in Sochi. It will be a great track.”
In addition, it will be important to mention that Lewis Hamilton of McLaren participated in demonstration run at Moscow during the last weekend and asserted that he is eagerly waiting to drive at Sochi Circuit.
Furthermore, he said that he has always liked racing in street circuits. Besides, he said that he was impressed by the overall structural design of the city and the audience. He also said that it will surely be a great experience to drive in Moscow at night like they race at Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore.
“I like street races very much,” he said. “It's terrific to see the city's architecture and people during the race, it's just an unforgettable feeling. It would be great to race in the night in Moscow like we did in Singapore. Many Formula One pilots like that race most of all.”
Over and above, it will be very interesting to see how the sport evolves in the future.
