  1. you bet ye.

  2. well the missles in poland are really anti-missles no nuclear warheads in them. they are meant for defense while the missles in cuba were nuclear and meant to kill others.

so really its not the same thing

  3. Considering they are all aimed at Moscow the reasoning behind siting them in Poland (terrorist states) is a bit lame.

  4. indeed.

  5. The first answer is correct. These are weapons designed to shoot down ballistic missiles. In essence, it's a "missile shield". Obviously Russia, having one of the largest stockpiles of nuclear weapons in the world, finds itself threatned when those weapons are rendered mostly useless.

    Edit:

"Does that mean that Missile shields would be ok in Cuba. Please do not forget there is only one country that has ever used Nuclear weapons."

As far as i'm concerned missile shields would be ok anywhere. ICBM's aren't designed to be used against military installations. Optimal targets for such weapons are large populational clusters. Yeah, it's always the civilian that gets it. Anything that can render those weapons innefective is fine by me.

Also, while the United States are the only country that have used such a weapon against another country, you'd do well to check on the Cold War and realize how many times we were close to a full out nuclear war.

    Another bloody edit:

Actually, the USA (and some other countries) do have the technology to shoot down ballistic missiles. Ever heard of the Patriot missile?

  6. The US doesn't have the technology to shoot down an approaching missile! The only way to hit an offensive missile is while it is still in its silo before it is ever launched! It would be like attempting to shoot the bullet fired out of a hand gun out of mid air before it struck you! There is no such thing as a missile shield! The missiles they are placing in Poland are offensive medium range missiles and the Russians know this full well and will not permit it to happen!

  7. Sure it is.  There is no need for them in the first place.  (With present technology, we can hit anywhere on the planet we want to,)

  8. Life ain't fair, and we would be fools to permit such a thing.

Were Cuba to allow foreign missiles on their soil again I would hope our bombers are airborne within the hour after we discover them.
