Russia still hanging on to its old ways?

Is there any evidence to point out that Russia still has its cold-war mentality? The recent conflict with Georgia can easily suggest that Russia has not gotten over its socialist past. Why would they be hostile towards Georgia in joining NATO or even attempting to take over land?

What about the death of certain individuals such as Alexander Litvinenko and others in the past that have links to Russia's deeds?

  1. Do you think that if the USA had a war going on on one of its borders it would stay out of it.?

I think not. The USA travels thousands of miles to get involved in fights.

It has always been opposed to countries near the USA joinng a potentially hostile power block.

Do I have to mention Cuba?
