  1. Bill W,

My thoughts has been since the collapse of the Soviet Union this party ain't over till the phat lady sings. The phat lady in question is the former KGB minions of Putin that are running Russia. We never truly ended the cold war, It only got cooler by a few degrees.

Many both in the US and abroad have been lulled into complacency, in the post Yeltsen world. Putin is re-establishing a tsarist like regime, and Georgia, and Poland or anyone that poises a deterrment to their wish for regional dominance may face similar consequences.

I do think our own political elite assumed wrongly the cold war was over. Contrary to Bush's statement of yesterday, it is not over, and for myself I look into the eyes of Putin and I see USSR and KGB.
