  1. rub surgical spirit on the skin regularly to harden the skin.

also make sure you keep your toenails short. (remember to cut the nail in a straight line - not following the shape of the toe. this prevents ingrowing toenails.)

  2. Can you wear like a gel pad for your big toe? That would help. If you can't all you can do really is work through the pain. I'm sorry. I am also on pointe but we are allowed to wear toe pads.

    Good luck! :)

  3. Ouch that's harsh, especially for a begginer. I suggest you buy loose lambs wool. it's discreet enough to stuff in your shoes without your teacher knowing. I find lambs wool even cushions your feet petter than pads. If you are too scared to risk that, the only thing you can do is tape your toes TIGHTLY with medical tape. It will numb the toes.

    Hope I helped :)

  4. Okay, I know this may be "cheating", but it worked for me.

Go to this website. . .

    http://www.discountdance.com/frame_set.p...

Type one of the following into the search box. . .

    1. GPC by Pillows For Pointe®

    Gel Pointe Shoe Cushions

    $1.99

    2. TSAV by Toe Savers

    ToeSavers™ Mini Pointe Shoe Pads

    $6.25

    (#2 is much better)

Glue these rubber pads into the boxes of your shoes,

    Most glues work.

They decrese pain, but are very discrete :-)

  5. wrap your foot in a piece of paper towell, it helps me because you dont feel anything

  6. Hi. I'm 16 too, I've been on pointe for 6 years, and I have previously used Russian Pointe Shoes. I don't use them anymore because I personally don't like how they break in on my feet, but I do know several dancers whom do enjoy them :) If you are not allowed to wear any padding, I suggest you wrap your feet up in paper towels or toilet paper, and tape up each toe individually with medical tape. The pain is going to be very strong at first [especially since this is your first time on pointe and not using any padding], it's going to bring on bunyons, bruised toes, blisters, bleeding, and anything else you could possibly think of, but after a while, you'll learn to get use to it :) have fun dancing
