Question:

Russian Recipe Question?

For anyone well versed in traditional Russian cuisine. I had a friend once who fixed a dish that I've longed for ever since. But I haven't found anything on it. She explained it was some thing her parents fixed back in her childhood in Russia every so often as sort of a special treat, a welcomed contrast to the largely potato, bread, and simple meat based meals they normally ate.

It involved liver, seasoned and boiled in a blood-based sauce, and a subtley sweet sort of carrot pattie (similar to a pancake). The liver and blood sauce were spooned onto the Carrot pattie, sandwiched, and eaten.

Does anyone know what this was? I need a recipe!
