Russian Storm to prevail in the Enjoy The Punters Package Group Offer Handicap (Div II)
Russian Storm is all set to dominate the track at Wolverhampton on 26th April, 2012, where she will compete in the Enjoy The Punters Package Group Offer Handicap (Div II) against ten other runners.
She will take on ten runners in an attempt to bag the purse of £1,704, and conquer the distance of 1 mile and 141 yards.
Trained by Pat Phelan, the four-year-old filly started her racing career on 15th
September, 2011, when she finished eighth in the TurfTV Maiden Stakes at Kempton.
The daughter of Hurricane Run, out of mare Yesteryear, began the season with a victory as she defeated, Flag Of Glory narrowly by a marginal difference of a head in the Laurence Wright Retirement Handicap at Lingfield on 30th March,
2012.
She maintained her composure throughout the track and responded well to jockey, Jemma Marshall’s guidance.
Owned by Ermyn Lodge Stud, Russian Storm carried the same momentum into the Chartplan Handicap (Div I), which took place at the same track on 11th
April, 2012.
This time she was teamed with jockey, Fergus Sweeney and together they defeated, The Bay Bandit, by 2 ¾ lengths.
It is expected that the mare that was whelped on 12th January, 2008, will perform to the best of her abilities and complete a hat-trick for her connections.
Land Hawk will enter today’s event with the odds of 7 to 4, and will bring his best to down a victory.
Since his career began on 4th September, 2008, the six-year-old gelding hasn’t succeeded in securing a victory, but he came close to it once.
The brown gelding finished as a runner-up in the Pre Book The Bistro Menu Handicap (Div II) at Kempton on 15th April, 2010, where he fell 1 ¾ lengths behind the winner, Millfields Dreams, under jockey,
Simon Pearce.
The Lydia Pearce trained gelding will race with all his might to land the first victory of his career.
Russian Storm has the odds stacking in her favour and she is likely to triumph today.
Land Hawk might be able to secure a placed position or even finish as a runner-up with enough effort and luck.
