Question:

Russian: What does the expression "Вот тут" mean?

I understand Вот means something that is coming into view - Вот Анна! :: Here's Anna!

and I understand тут is the same as здесь , which means "here", at a particular location.

But Ive noticed a few phrases on the internet beginning with Вот тут ..

For example,

Вот тут я сижу часами on Flickr

Why not just say:

тут я сижу часами on Flickr

??

Do Russians commonly use this expression Вот тут ?

Thanks again for your help!

Tracy.
