  1. If you post up her surname we can try to find out whether or not your gt gt Grandmother was related to the Tsars.

Personally I'm rather sceptical, because Anastasia died without having children.

  2. Anastasia was the daughter of Czar Nicholas, his german wife's name was Alexandra.  There have been lots of people who have claimed to have family ties to the last Czar.  There was a woman who claimed to be Anastasia and a movie was made about her.  Modern DNA evidence proved that she was a fraud.

Personally I think the last Czar and his family got just what they deserved.  They were living the life of luxury and giving solid gold jewel encrusted easter eggs to each other while people were dying of starvation. I would not be in such a hurry to want to be connected with those butchers.

  3. It is now pretty much proven that the czar, his wife, and all five of his children died in July (or was it June) of 1918, and none of the children had children of their own. However, of course Nicholas and Alexandra had brothers, cousins, etc, that lived longer than them, had families, etc.

So while it is impossible that you are a DIRECT decedent of Nicholas II or any of his children,  a direct ancestor (like your great grandmother) still could have been closely related to the czar, such as a sibling, aunt, uncle, or first cousin.

BTW.. there was a woman, Anna Anderson, who claimed to be the "saved" Anastasia. They eventually used DNA testing to prove that she was in no way related to the royal family. They did this by testing her DNA against that of the closest living relative (at the time) of the Czar. This was in the 80's or 90's or something.

Perhaps there's still the possibility of testing DNA?? Long shot, but why don't you start by looking up who it was they tested Ana Anderson's DNA against. See if you can find out who the closest living relative of the Czar is today.

  4. If you were related to the russian royals that would mean that you would also be related to most of the european royals! You need to find out who you are related to that makes you a relation to the royals
