Russian men/women.. need your insight..

Question

I'm an Asian American and about six months ago I met a wonderful Russian man. I find him to be very kind and a gentleman. But at times he's brutally honest and can be very rude. He plays these little games with me.. he'll call me on and off and then stop all contact for two months. I changed my phone number because I was already developing strong feelings for him and was afraid he didn't feel the same. He barely talks to me or shares his feelings. I don't know why he won't open up. He recently tracked me down and I decided to give him another chance.. again he did the same thing. After two days, he stops all contact for two weeks. Then yesterday he calls and tells me he lost his phone, etc. I don't know what to think. I'm sure he has other girls he sees. And I'm tired of these games. I'm a strong woman who doesn't deserve a man who is only using me. I don't know if this is a custom.. or if he expects me to run after him. Not sure if he's running a test on me to see if I really like him.. He's very special to me and I don't mind being just a friend. I just wish I knew what to say to make him understand that I'm here for him no matter what. Do you think he's afraid or intimidated? Or am I just a fool for putting up with a guy who doesn't know what he wants? Any advice would be appreciated.. thank you!

Heidi: This question doesn't really belong in the travel section. But regardless, men (including Russian men) are relatively simple in relationships and hardly ever engage in complicated tests or manipulation schemes. So if your guy doesn't call you for 2 months, he's really not into you. Do not let him use you for booty calls.

Since you are developing strong feeling for him, you should either drop him immediately or at least set very tough conditions to continue dating. Otherwise, you're bound to have a broken heart.

Heidi - you sound like an intelligent, mature young lady.  You have already answered your own question.  Sure you'll feel the break-up for a bit, but remember high school, college - you'll move on and some lucky guy will find you the right person.  When you look back you might add a big duh?
