One of the Russian variations of the name Ivan (Иван) is pronounced "Von-ya." I am curious to find out what the exact spelling is.

It might be found on this website. Please list your source of knowledge, thanks:

  1. Ваня--Ván--ya not Von-ya

  2. The correct spelling if you want that pronounciation in english is "Vanya" There is no correct spelling as such in english, because it is a russian name written in cyrillic and therefore you have to go with what roman letters make the name sound like you want it. That wikipedia article says it all pretty much.

  3. i heard about TANYA has written by Dostoieviski.

    who wrote this vanya?

.i lke russian language. bt i donno...y i came here.
