Russian team wins Women’s Team Foil contest on fifth day of 2011 Universiade Championship

After winning the Men’s Epee team contest, The Russian squad won another gold medal on the fifth day of The 2011 Universiade Games in Shenzhen, China. The Russian Women’s team won the gold medal in the Women’s Foil contest on the fifth day of Universiade
events on August 17.
Russian Women defeated Polish squad to capture the gold medal of the day. In this way, Russian teams represented their country by winning two gold medals on the same day as they had already won the gold medal in the Men’s Epee contest. Italy was the Foil
Champion as they had won many events in Foil of both Men and Women. But the Blue squad could not maintain their position in the Universiade Foil contest of Women. The Italian was dropped in the quarter-final bout by French team.
Russian was placed first in the Foil contest while Poland was honoured with the second position in the competition. The bronze medal fight was taken place between the team of Korea and France. After acquiring 45 touches in the competition, French squad won
the bronze medal of the women’s Foil contest and it was placed third in the competition. The United States was placed sixth in the competition.

France defeated Italy after hitting decider hit in the score-line of 45-44
Korea defeated United States with the score of 45-31 touches
Russia defeated Germany with the 45-24 score-line

Poland defeated France with 45-38 touches
Russia beat Korea with the score of 45-37 touches
Final bout
Russia defeated Poland with the score of 45-32 to win the gold medal of the day.
Bronze medal bout
France defeated Korea with the score of 45-41 to win the bronze medal
5th and 6th place bout
The Italian squad defeated United States to capture the fifth place
7th and 8th place bout
Japan defeated Germany with the score of 45-11 for capturing sixth spot
