  1. The simple and shocking answer is this gas or carb cleaner help break up the rust ball bearings and bb's can physically remove scaling but in the end wash and rinse your tank with water then seal it with any number of tank sealants just like god water giveth and water taketh away nothing loosens or removes rust better than simple water speed it up with BB's they are awesome.

  2. put half a litre of fuel(1 pint) in the tank..  & a hand full of 6mm nuts(1/4")..   shake them around for 15- 20 mins...

    empty it all out...

pour in some rust converter.. & shake it around for 10 mins..

    empty out & let dry...

    put back on bike....

  3. I just cleaned the tank on a 1965 Chevy truck. What we did was remove the tank - put in some pea gravel - shake the bejeezuz out of the tank. When we were done we emptied out the gravel and the inside of the tank was nice and shiny. We are looking for something to line the tank with but haven't found a suitable product yet. Because we won't be filling the tank for a while we just sloshed the inside with some WD-40.

  4. Read "Application Instructions" on  this page, it tells you what you want to know.

  5. Several ways

You can buy tank sealer, and just reline the inside of the tank

We used to talk all the stuff off of the tank. Stuff a hunk of clean chain inside and roll it around.

It will take most of the scale off, then rinse it out with fuel.

    Let it day

Pour in POR-15 tank sealer, roll it around, get everything coated, then it drys, it will be fuel proof.

Or skip all the work, and buy a tank on E-Bay

  6. Get some Kream its a kit, you pour the acid in, it eats the rust and you leave it to dry, then pour in a white epoxy that coats the tank. Note this does remove some metal, so it should not be leaking when the acid is washed out. You'll need a cork to plug the petcock opening.

Or KBS cycle tank sealer kit, they claim it is superior. $35 bucks for a 5 gallon gas tank. much the same process. I don't know WHY the factory doesn't sell them already done.

  7. Kreem fuel tank liner.

Use the 3 bottle combo pack.
