Question:

Rust spots on my NEW Kia Spectra

I washed my car the other day and notices tiny little pin-prick like spots of rust in a few places. I am taking it in for them to look at next week. In the meantime, has anyone else had this problem? I am wondering if they will cover it.

  1. That's usually from the train wheels kicking up iron dust, they call it rail dust.It is easily removed with the right chemical which the dealer probably will use on it at no charge. If they won't,they're not being very responsible.

  2. If your car is under the bumper to bumper warranty, they will cover it. They may have been stone chips from being shipped via truck or train that got oxidized... Common on any brand of car that that is sold at a dealership with a poor quality Pre Delivery Inspection program.
