Rutland Boy heads the lineup for the S O G Facilities Handicap on 17th February
Meydan becomes home for the S O G Facilities Handicap on Friday, 17th February. The one mile will be contested over by fourteen runners that will gather up for claiming the £7,742 purse.
The four-year-old chestnut gelding, Rutland Boy has been entered for today by his trainer Al Raihe. The four-year-old has already cracked through the 2012 season with taking up the second position initially and later posting a seasonal debut victory.
On 6th January at Meydan, Rutland Boy scored second in the Longines Conquest Collection, raced over six furlongs that were invaded by the fourteen competing. Ancien Regime was the 9/2 favourite for the race, who finished ninth.
His next start was in the SMKA – MK by Honeywell, for which he was entered as the 4/1 favourite and dominated the lineup that comprised of fourteen contesting.
Al Raihe has also entered Metropolitain Miss.
Doug Watson trained four-year-old filly, Phoenix City, is racing her seasonal debut in the form of S O G Facilities Handicap. She participated in three races during her 2011 season.
After a dreadful failure on 25h August, Phoenix City took up the second slot in the Lay Back And Win At Betdaq.Com Maiden Stakes on 3rd August at Kempton. Port Hollow was the 3/1 favourite winner of the race.
On 11th August, Phoenix City won the Hiscox Property Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket. This she accomplished against the 10/11 favourite of the race, Regal Heiress who was positioned third in the race.
Phoenix City’s stable mate, the five-year-old bay gelding, Daboos, is stepping up for the third race of the 2012 season. He won the Arabian Scandinavian Insurance Company on 16th December and ever since then he has been taking the runner up’s
position in the next three starts.
First among the trio was the final race of the 2011 season, the Al Shafar Group Handicap on 30th December at Jebel Ali in which he was entered as a 5/2 favourite. He again scored second in the next attempt, the SMKA – MK by Honeywell, which he
lost against Rutland Boy.
Daboos’s second start of the year was in the Al Shafar Investment Handicap on 10th February for which he was entered as the 5/2 favourite.
