Ruud Bosch, Jim Middelburg prove their point in 2012 Yonex Hungarian International Championships
Men’s Doubles title of the 37th Yonex Hungarian International Championships belonged to Ruud Bosch-Jim Middelburg as they thrashed Zvonimir Durkinjak-Zvonimir Hoelbling on November 4, 2012.
This grand finale remained in full swing for 50 minutes and both teams sweat hard to put the final figures of 17-21, 21-19 and 21-16.
The victorious duo showed great fighting spirit in local badminton complex of Budaors, Hungary and locked the honour despite of going down in the opening game.
Meanwhile, the Croatian pair squandered their first set win and knelt down tamely in the ending two games.
Zvonimir Durkinjak and Zvonimir Hoelbling, who were placed at second spot in the tournament ranking, took off in perfect manner and established an early advantage in the first set.
They prevailed in couple of uninterrupted rallies and piled up an indomitable total of 11 in first half of the set.
After the mid-game break, they lost focus for short span of time but did not allow the opposing team to proceed.
They ruled the court in final stage and wrapped this segment of the showdown with an overwhelming figure of 21-17.
However, the story was entirely different in following game as the suppressed duo of previous set showed a transformed character and brought the contest to right balance.
Ruud and Jim, who were representing Netherlands in this GP Gold tournament, showed superb coordination and turned their competitors’ plan of straight-set victory into dust.
This time they played with right attitude and established an unassailable lead in first half of the set.
Though, they dropped some valuable points after the break but managed to reinstate their dominance in third quarter of the set.
The Dutch pair showed consistency in their performance and levelled the match score with an impressive result of 21-19.
This development made the decider crucial as both teams were just one knock away from the crown.
They made every effort to gain an early advantage but then Ruud and Jim showed elevated craft to raise their country’s flag in this tournament.
They maintained a notable difference of five points and claimed the title with a winning margin of 21-16.
