The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss has voiced his opinion over the Eredivisie giants’ 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Bundesliga champions in their opening game of Champions League group stages
Ruud Gullit has stressed that Ajax Amsterdam lacked a bit of steel in their 1-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park in the UEFA Champions League game on September 18.
The Dutch legend has acknowledged the Amsterdammers impressive show with the ball in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904, but has also admitted that their lack of physical presence on the pitch was the real difference at the end of 90 minutes.
“That's the feeling I got when I watched Borussia Dortmund versus Ajax. They put in a good performance and looked good in possession, but they lacked a bit of steel. They miss a player like Ronald Spelbos, Jan Wouters or Frank
Rijkaard. Players who are excellent on the ball, but are also real men when it comes to the 'nitty-gritty'”, Gullit was quoted as saying in his column in De Telegraaf.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 and AC Milan midfielder went on to insist that the balance in De Joden’s playing XI is not right.

“Christian Poulsen is not that type of player either. The balance at Ajax simply isn't right. They have too many showpieces and not enough players who get stuck in”, Gullit concluded.
Although, the Amsterdam giants enjoyed lion’s share of ball possession in the opening 45 minutes of action, they still failed to create any goal-scoring opportunity of note.
After the half-time break, the Amsterdammers continued to perform brightly, but Die Borussians also started to threaten the visiting side’s defence. However, they both failed to break the deadlock until the 87th minute,
when the German outfit grabbed the lead through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Lewandowski-c31255.
De Joden searched for the equaliser in the remaining action, but they failed to threaten the hosts, and the match ended in a 1-0 win in favour of the Bundesliga champions.
Ajax will lock horns against Real Madrid in their next Champions League encounter at Amsterdam Arena on October 3.
