Reports from Philips Stadion confirm that PSV Eindhoven have successfully acquired the services of Ruud Swinkels from FC Eindhoven. The 25-year-old goalkeeper has agreed to put pen to paper on a season-long deal.
The Dutch gloves man, who came through the ranks of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Willem-II-c40945 Tilburg, started his professional football career at FC Eindhoven in the summer of 2009. The talented shot-stopper made rapid developments to his game, and swiftly cemented
his place as the first choice goalkeeper at Jan Louwers Stadion.
His consistent showings for the past couple of seasons for the Eerste Divisie outfit garnered him interest from several Dutch top flight clubs, but the Willem II youth product opted to join the Eindhoven giants.
Swinkels, who represented the Blue-white Army in 85 Eerste Divisie matches, was extremely delighted after signing a contract at Philips Stadion, and insisted that he will try his level best to become a regular for the Boeren.
“After having spent three seasons with FC Eindhoven, I felt it was the right moment to take that next step. I know I will be third-choice goalkeeper at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281, but I will most certainly fight for my place”, the promising goalkeeper
was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The Dutch shot-stopper went on to admit that he needed to take the next step in his career, and representing the Eindhoven giants will certainly prove a fruitful move for his career.
“I played for First Divsion side Eindhoven, who finished the season in third place, and have now signed a one-year contract with top-flight side PSV. To me, this is a big step forward in my career”, Swinkels concluded.
PSV finished third on the Eredivisie table in the 2011/12 season following their poor showings in the finals weeks of the campaign, as the club sat at the summit of the table for many weeks.
However, the club management have made their intentions clear that the club’s primary aim in the 2012/13 campaign will be to win the Eredivisie title.
