http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-van-Bommel-c24148 always welcome, says PSV Eindhoven’s Philip Cocu
PSV Eindhoven’s assistant coach, Philip Cocu, has expressed that a return of his former teammates, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Mark van Bommel, is always welcome in Eindhoven. Van Bommel is currently playing for AC Milan but his contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Same holds true for Ruud van Nistelrooy who is playing for Hamburg SV.
Cocu hopes that both the players would make a return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 in the near future. “If they want to come back, PSV should do pretty in the coming days. Of course, I speak with them regularly, but not about this. Mark and Ruud have their entire careers already mapped out and they know they are welcome. I am not going to say to them, come here. That makes no sense.” Cocu said.
PSV sporting director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcel-c23507 Brands, had earlier expressed his desire to add the two veteran players to his squad. The Boeren tried to sign Van Bommel in the winter transfer market, but the playmaker was eventually lured to Serie A by the Rossoneri.
The 34-year-old Dutch international had a successful spell with the Boeren before joining La Liga giants Barcelona in 2005/06 season. He scored 46 goals in 169 appearances for PSV in his six-season spell with the Boeren.
Van Nistelrooy, Van the man, enjoyed three seasons while playing at the Red White Army before joining the English Premier League outfit, Manchester United, in the 2001/02 season. The 34-year-old striker had an exceptional record playing for the Dutch outfit as he scored a majestic 62 goals in just 67 matches.
The Red White Army had enjoyed a good season this term but were ruled out of the title race in the final furlong of the season. They are currently sitting third in the league table, trailing the league leaders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 Enschede by three points. However, Should they manage to win their last encounter of the ongoing 2010/11 season, the Boeren will certainly finish second in the Eredivisie table.
With a host of top European clubs taking interest in signing Van Bommel and Nistelrooy at the end of the season, the signings of these two veterans seems a farfetched notion. However, only time will tell whether the prodigal sons return to their former hunting ground or pursue the end of their careers elsewhere.
