hi was thinking of a rear wheel drive car for my first car , give me some suggestions that are also good on gas , like so many people suggested the 240sx , i didnt like the look in the begining but i guess they are kinda worthy cars, tell me if you know any pros and cons about them , since i want a rwd , and we get snow in ontario i was wondering if i can get those lift kits and put big tires like truck or like monster truck type tires at the back for the winter months , i do this with my radio control trucks all the time but is it a good idea with real cars , and are 240sx nice first cars like is it worthy at track racing against a 400hp mustang fast back like the 1969 ones? should i get it turbo or just stock i heard some engine sawp is good , if u have a 240sx please give me some info on ur car and how it is

  1. first of all I grew up in the 70s and 80s no-one had 4wds and we got around fine with rwd cars.

fall came everyone put on their snow tires and we were good to go

also 240s are awesome drifting cars, you can get them with or without a turbo depending how much you want to spend

    good luck with the search

also to anyone who tells you front wheel drive is better

ask them how many front wheel drives does

    ferrari

    maserati

    lambo

    make

and how many front wheel drives win at nascar?

    have fun

  2. get a firebird with a 6 cylinder it goes through the snow better then a 240sx

  3. I've had both the stock one which has a 2.4 DOHC 155 horsepower engine and one with an sr20det swapped in at 203 hp and 205 torque with slight modifications such as a front mounted intercooler.  What I can tell you is that the sr20 is very fun to drive, it was very responsive (small turbo) and decently quick.  I believe mine was about 5.7 or 5.8 0-60, which isn't as good as a 400hp mustang, but that can easily be changed by dropping a "disco potato" in there which would make it very competitive in power.  You'll have to read about the potato elsewhere, I'm too lazy. =)  If you just type in s13 or silvia in google, you should find many people tuning their cars for track.  If you want more information on the 240sx, you can go to forums.nicoclub.com.

edit: I just say the post before me and I have to agree that most FF cars aren't that great.  Some are pretty good like the Mazdaspeed 3, but most are only produced as front wheel drive because it is simply cheaper.  Rear wheel and all wheel drive are usually better.
