The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 striker joined the Eredivisie giants from Hoffenheim in the recently concluded summer transfer window, and the 25-year-old has already started to enjoy the atmosphere at Amsterdam Arena.
After playing 73 league matches for Ajax Amsterdam, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Babel-c31971 moved to Liverpool for greener pastures in the summer of 2007. The Dutchman represented the English Premier League side in close to 100 league matches during his three-and-a-half year spell at
Anfield before joining http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/TSG-1899-Hoffenheim-c40767 half-way through the 2010/11 season.
However, following his below par showings at Rhein-Neckar-Arena, the Bundesliga side terminated the 25-year-old’s contract on mutual consent in August 2012, and the Amsterdammers managed to lure the Dutch international to Amsterdam Arena.
Babel has expressed his delight over returning back to the city from where he started his professional career, and revealed that he has matured over the course of years.
“I’ve become more mature. It’s definitely familiar, because it still looks almost the same as five years ago. But I still need to let it sink in. I want to be seen again. I think that people don’t have a good perception of me, because I played good matches
in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. With Ajax, I want to show how well I can play”, the Dutch hit-man was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The 25-year-old went on to stress that he wants to share his experience with the young players at Amsterdam Arena.
"I only know http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Derk-Boerrigter-c10972 were playing with the second team, so I don’t know them very well. I’d like to be able to share my experience with the young guys. I’ve always had a good relationship with young players.
I want to help them”, Babel concluded.
The Dutch international, who has represented his national team in 42 matches since making his debut in 2005, has a contract at Amsterdam Arena that runs until the summer of 2013.
He would be keen to make headlines regularly for all the good reasons, and help the Amsterdam giants to progress at least to the knock-out stages of UEFA Champions League.
