The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 forward has stressed that his side’s showings against the English Premier League champions is a statement to the other teams competing in the tournament.
De Joden cruised to a convincing 3-1 win over the Citizens at Amsterdam Arena on October 24, before securing a hard fought 2-2 stalemate against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s men at City of Manchester Stadium on November 6.
“It was a statement to the other teams. We have to take it step by step but I think we made a little statement. We have to analyse what the game plan will be for the next two games but I think these two games will give us confidence”, Babel was quoted as
saying to the media.

Babel admitted that his side faced a stern test in Manchester, and revealed that two early goals helped his side to achieve a positive result at the end of 90 minutes.
“I think it was a tough match. It was a different game from the game against City at home. They pushed a lot from the start. Fortunately we scored the two early goals but we still had to keep the focus. Maybe we had a bit of luck. All in all, It was a positive
result”, the 25-year-old concluded.
Ajax will take on Borussia Dortmund in their next Champions League fixture on November 21.
