Ryan Braun’s 50-game suspension not likely to be overturned, says MLB officials – MLB News
Recently, some Major League sources have speculated in the media that several MLB officials, who are also looking specifically in Ryan Braun’s appeal to revert the 50-game ban, have claimed that Braun might face the suspension in 2012.
The Milwaukee Brewers’ left-fielder Ryan Braun is currently under scrutiny by the Major League officials as he tested positive for high testosterone level. While the 2011 National League Most Valuable Player (MVP), Braun is now likely to face a 50-game suspension
in the upcoming season.
According to sources, the officials are not likely to overturn initial decision by the MLB and Braun could face severe punishment.
However, officials did say that if Braun’s attorney able to convince the authorities of false lab tests or prove that Braun’s team signed off the treatment yet he used those drugs as these two are the only conditions when this likely ban of 50-game might
overturn in the coming month.
Earlier, Gary I. Wadler, a professor of medicine at Hofstra North Shores LIJ School of Medicine and ex-chairman of the World Anti-Doping Agency's Prohibited List and Method subcommittee, spoke to the media and explained regarding the particulars in relation
to the PED and league’s association.
Wadler stated with confidence describing details of athletes’ body behaviour by using PED, “In the world of doping, we use the principle of strict liability, so if you knew how it got there or not, if it's in your body, you are held accountable.”
Gary’s comments are somewhat true but no official from the Brewers’ management has accepted that Braun did this act of cheating instead they are passing statements in favour of Braun.
Recently, the Brewers’ principal owner Mark Attanasio commented in the media, “Ryan Braun has been a model citizen in every sense of the word, both in the Milwaukee community and for the Brewers.”
Whatever the media or the Brewers’ management says, the next few weeks will reveal the real story behind Ryan Braun’s PED episode. It will be interesting to see what happens as the drama unfolds on this case.
