Ryan Braun’s double RBIs help Milwaukee Brewers defeat Arizona Diamondbacks 5-2 – MLB Update
Milwaukee Brewers’ left-fielder, Ryan Braun outclassed the pitchers with his outstanding batting performance as he hit two RBIs and a solo homer in the Brewers’ 5-2 win against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field, Arizona on July 20.
The Brewers posted their initial run during the first inning to take a 1-0 lead when Braun struck a solo homer (433 feet) towards left-centre. It was considered his 18th home-run of the current regular season.
The batters failed to put runs from the second to sixth inning of the game and got out to various field spots. Rickie Weeks walked but Jonathan Lucroy flied out to right-field and Yuniesky Betancourt grounded out to second base at the top of the second inning.
Similarly, the Diamondbacks’ batters also failed in scoring shots as Chris Young grounded out to short-stop position, Ryan Roberts flied out to left-field and Xavier Nady fouled out to first base at the bottom of the second inning. The Diamondbacks missed
the scoring opportunities during the fifth inning when Kelly Johnson popped out to third base and Henry Blanco flied out to centre-field without playing a gap shot.
During the sixth inning, the Brewers’ batters also looked immobilised as Corey Hart flied out to centre-field, Nyjer Morgan grounded out to first base and Braun grounded out to third base. The Brewers got a 2-0 lead at the top of the seventh inning when
Lucroy singled off centre-field and Casey McGehee posted a single run. Betancourt moved to second base at the end of seventh inning.
On the other side, the Diamondbacks’ batters broke their silence and scored two runs to tie the game 2-all at the bottom of the eighth inning. Johnson and Gerardo Parra both posted two collective runs when Willie Bloomquist doubled off deep left-centre.
In the ninth inning, the batters were grounded out to different bases without providing any result. Later on, in the additional 10th inning, the Brewers exploded three runs to lift their lead 5-2. Morgan singled off right-field and Mark Kotsay
scored one run. The second run was taken by Hart when Braun drove a single-run shot towards right-centre. The final run of the game was taken by Morgan on the drive of Weeks to left-field.
With this tremendous win, the Brewers were able to take a 2-1 lead in a four-game series against the Diamondbacks.
