Ryan Braun’s stunning performance gives Milwaukee Brewers a convincing win – MLB Update
Milwaukee Brewers’ left-fielder, Ryan Braun was energetic with his bat as he gave his team a definitive edge in the five game series of the playoffs as the team defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-4 in Game 2 of the series. Braun was consistent with his
performance from the last series of the regular season.
On Sunday night, Braun executed with his bat as he went 3-for-4 and hit three RBIs to move the Brewers’ score-card with a continuous interval. He helped Zack Greinke by posting runs on the score-board. The fielders also got enough momentum to keep the things
going in the right way.
Greinke pitched superbly for the Brewers and had seven strike-outs in his respective seven innings pitched. Speaking to reporters, Greinke commented on Braun and said, “When he gets hot, it's just a little hotter than he normally is.”
With that wonderful performance, Braun was able to improve his previous batting record also as he had four runs, three RBIs and two doubles including a solo homer in the post-season. Braun’s overall batting record was also awesome as he maintained his batting
average to .458 in the last six playoff games of his career.
Brewers’ manager, Ron Roenicke had a huge ovation for Braun. Roenicke said, “He doesn't stop. That's a good pitcher they have out there, and he really puts quality at-bats together to get those hits.”
Braun had an exemplary performance through 2011 as he had 161 home-runs, 531 RBIs, .563 slugging percentage, 506 runs, .312 batting average and 96 stolen bases. He earned a ton of fame this year and is now considered as the key player for the Brewers. His
team-mate Prince Fielder also shined for the Brewers as they both led their team on a winning track.
Diamondbacks’ manager Kirk Gibson praised both of them and said, “They're good hitters. There's not much room for error when they're swinging the bats the way they are right now.”
After having an amazing performance in the first two games, Braun made himself a strong contender for the NLDS most valuable player. Now, it will be a great challenge for him to retain that terrific batting average.
