Ryan Cochrane accomplishes Men’s 400m freestyle gold – 2013 Austin Grand Prix
Ryan Cochrane of Island Swimming accomplished gold medal of the Men’s 400m freestyle on first day of the 2013 ST TXLA Austin Grand prix at Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, on Friday, January 18.
The 24-year-old Cochrane devastated hopes of his opponents in the eight-lap discipline and outperformed his opponents for the title. He showed no mercy to his challenger and secured gold medal of the event.
Cochrane faced tough challenge from his following finisher and tapped the wall for gold medal with an effort of 3 minutes and 52.07 seconds.
Cochrane was followed by Michael McBroom of UT-ST, who stayed 0.34 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 3 minutes and 52.41 seconds.
McBroom remained nearly two and a half body lengths slower from Michael Klueh of Club Wolverine-M, who surfaced on the wall for third position by touching the wall with the timing of 3 minutes and 54.82 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Tyler Clary of Club Wolverine-M, who stayed nearly 0.34 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and reached the wall with an effort of 3 minutes and 55.16 seconds.
Clary was traced by Alec Page of Island Swimming, who stayed 0.90 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall with the timing of 3 minutes and 56.06 seconds for fifth position
Sixth place of the race was secured by Keegan Zanatta of Island Swimming, who suffered a deficit of only 0.01 seconds from his foregoing finisher and clocked a time of 3 minutes and 56.07 seconds.
Zanatta was followed by Alex Wold of Santa Clara Swim, who stayed 0.76 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and touched the wall with an effort of 3 minutes and 56.83 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Arturo Perez Vertti of Mission Viejo Nadadores, who finished eighth in the race by posting a time of 4 minutes and 00.63 seconds.
In addition, Cochrane was extremely happy with his notable effort in the race and received accolade after the event.
