http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 doesn’t see Alex Ferguson retiring anytime soon
Ryan Giggs, who has become a living legend at Old Trafford, has gone on to state that Alex Ferguson could easily carry on as Manchester United’s manager for the next five years or so. The Scottish manager will be heading into his seventies then, but based
on his current profile, he is bound not to have any problems at that age.
Ferguson, despite being sixty nine years old at the moment, has one of the most enduring passions for the game and as a result, thinking about United without Ferguson, seems rather weird at the moment.
In a recent interview with the media, Giggs is reported to have said, "I really do not see him (Ferguson) finishing any time soon, he will go on, at least another five years. His desire gets stronger. After a Champions League game we can get back at 3.30am
and then a few hours later he will be the first in at the training ground. Earlier in the season we had a virus at the club. He got it himself and was dying during the week, really sick, but come the day of the game, he was there in the dug-out. He just loves
the challenge."
However, Giggs was not quite done yet. He went on to add speculation to the fact that he was going to pursue a career in managing as well – only after he eventually called it quits to his career as a player.
Giggs then went on to state, "I want to remain in football so I can continue to do something I have done since school. If I have a day off I am bored. I hope I can be a good manager, I like helping players and improving them. But the life expectancy of a
manager is just 18 months, so you do not get long."
If Giggs is to make a move to the management side, then it will be fairly obvious for him to be in contention for a role at Old Trafford. Giggs has already proven to be one of the greatest players to ever set foot at United, having won eleven league titles
with the team. He has also achieved a rather outstanding record of having scored in every league season, since year 1992. The Welsh winger has also managed to score in eleven consecutive UEFA Champions League tournaments, while never having been sent off in
his entire career with United. The feat cannot be imagined by anyone on earth, but Giggs has managed to make it a reality.
It is still unclear as to how the winger’s managerial career will be, but if he manages to follow Ferguson’s path, then he could prove to be the one of the greatest player-turn managers ever.
All in all, Giggs has been more than just a brilliant player over the course of his career with United, while on the other hand, Ferguson can be held hugely responsible for what United is today.
Nonetheless, Ferguson is bound to call it quits someday and no United fan wants to think about that.
