Ryan Giggs out for at least two weeks
Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs faces a spell out of the first team after picking up a hamstring injury.
Giggs had to be taken off in the 53rd minute during the 2-2 draw against Bolton Wanderers. The club will assess Giggs' injury over the next few days but manager Sir Alex Ferguson says it's likely he'll
be out for at least two weeks.
"Ryan is the most serious, it's a hamstring and I'm afraid he will be out for a couple of weeks,"
said Ferguson.
The news is a negative blow for the club because Giggs is needed after a shaky start to the season. Manchester United will have to find a replacement that can come in and
have a positive effect on the side.
Missing experience
Giggs is the most experienced player in the club and his absence will be a huge blow over the next couple of weeks. Giggs has the ability to hold the team together when
other sides are trying to tear United apart.
Giggs is a vital figure in keeping everyone calm at the club. He has played in much worse United teams and will be crucial in maintaining confidence and morale even though
he's now out of action.
United is struggling to find two players to control the wings of the team. Antonio Valencia is out with a broken ankle and Wayne Rooney, who can control the right wing,
is also in the treatment room. If the club picks up any more serious injuries then the depth of the squad will be truly tested.
This means the emphasis will now fall on Portuguese Nani and Frenchman Gabriel Obertan to provide the width in the team. This is dangerous because both players have never
been able to stay in the side for a long spell during their Manchester United careers.
Betting advice
United is still a good bet for any competition this season. The club is struggling with form and injuries but is still capable of winning any match. Nani will have a huge
role over the next two weeks, so back him to be successful.
