Ryan Giggs says it’s time to beat Chelsea
Manchester United’s living legend Ryan Giggs is looking forward to ending the team’s poor record at Stamford Bridge. The Red Devils have lost 3 of their last 5 matches at Chelsea’s home stadium and the last time Sir Alex won a match at the venue was back
in 2002. Giggs believes now is the best time to put an end to Manchester United’s losing streak at the Bridge. The Red Devils have reason to be confident before Sunday’s blockbuster encounter. United are currently unbeaten in the Barclays Premier League this
season and recently defeated their old rivals Arsenal.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are in the middle of their worst run of form in more than 10 years. The Blues have failed to win in their last five games, squandering their lead at the summit. The London club has secured just 6 points out of a possible 21, leaving them
in 4th place in the table. However, Sir Alex will be mindful of United’s recent record against Chelsea and will not be taking any chances against the English champions. Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelloti has already stated that his side’s recent slump
is behind them and that they are capable of beating Manchester United.
Ryan Giggs though, remains optimistic about United’s chances on Sunday. Speaking to the club’s official website, the winger said,
‘It doesn't get any bigger than a trip to Chelsea. Hopefully we can change the record we've had there for the last few years because we haven't won for a few years. Everyone's been buzzing since Monday. We've seen over the last few years what a tough place
Stamford Bridge is to go to and we'll need to be at our best, just as we were on Monday. We know a win on Sunday would put us in a great position.’
If Chelsea win on Sunday, they will return to the top of the table. However, If Manchester United win, they will take control of the Premier League with a six point lead at the top. If Sir Alex can pull this off, United will become favorties to regain the
title.
