Manchester United head into a tricky clash at Birmingham City today, with the Red Devils still undefeated in the Premier league. United managed an impressive win over Sunderland this Sunday, where they completely outplayed the visitors.
United may well be a point behind Manchester City by the time they face Birmingham at St Andrews. However, City would have played three extra fixtures than United, giving Ferguson’s men a lot of breathing space.
Despite the favourable situation of the club in the premier league, Ryan Giggs urged his team mates to keep performing at the highest level. The Red Devils haven’t played http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 this season and have two away fixtures in the form of Blackpool and Chelsea
still in hand. One would think that Ferguson’s side would be running high on confidence and be favorites to win both the clashes, however, Giggs remained realistic about things.
"You are obviously wary because of the way the league has been this year. Anyone can beat anyone. We are thankful we remain unbeaten and confidence is high. But we realise that nothing can be taken for granted,” stated the 37 year old midfielder.
Giggs claimed that since the premier league is extra tough this season, there is absolutely no room for error. Historically, United have only gotten better in this part of the season, with the side losing just one fixture last season from January to May.
By the time the defending Champions face Ferguson’s XI, the league may well already have been decided in favour of the Red Devils.
"We hope to get better in the second half of the season. Our form over the last few weeks has been really good. We looked sharp against Arsenal and Blackburn, and it was the same against Sunderland. Some of the play we produced, the one-touch passing and
the movement, was great to be involved in," claimed the Veteran midfielder.
Giggs’ impressive run against Sunderland showed shades of his younger self. The player managed to dodge past 3 defenders to find Rooney, who then crossed the ball towards Berbatov to set up the first goal.
