Ryan Grant’s comeback is still a question

Ryan Grant is out for the season due to a right ankle injury, this is a major loss to his team as he piled up 1200 yards in each of the past two seasons.

Grant, who defeated Philadelphia Eagles, got injured on Sunday, and requires an immediate surgery to correct a torn ligament in his ankle that will leave him on crutches for 10 to 12 weeks.
He will be going to the New York City in the upcoming days, to see the experts for the sake of second opinion.
The Packers have decided the replacement of former first-round pick Justin Harvell on injured reserve and signed back Dimtri Nance and defensive end Jarius Wynn to fill the blanked spaces on the roaster heading into Sunday’s home
game against Buffalo.

"When you lose a running back of Ryan's caliber, it's a big loss, but this is something we have to deal with and move forward from as a team," general manager Ted Thompson said in a statement. "Our medical people will do a great job with Justin and Ryan, and
we expect each to make a full recovery from their injuries."
Mike McCarthy, the Packer’s coach said on the last Monday evening that Ryan Grant’s injury involves ligament damage and needs to be operated as fast as possible.

On Tuesday doctors scheduled many tests regarding injury, but the results were not satisfactory to bring Grant back this season.
Ryan Grant who is in the third year of the four year contract, was wearing a protective walking boot on his right foot after the injury and said after Sunday’s game that his ankle was not broken but was only twisted. On Tuesday
he said that there is positive chance of his comeback in the current season after the surgery, but it would have been very late and put the Packers in a bind with their roaster moving forward.
"It was more severe than initially thought during game," Grant tweeted. "But I just have to move forward and get it right. Anyone who knows me understands that my spirits WILL stay high."
Packers, who have been noted as a favourite to reach the Super Bowl, are now facing a difficult situation in the season. The injuries come at two of the thinnest positions for the Packers.
Before signing Nance, the Packers had only one option for backup by bringing Brandon Jackson and John Kuhn on the roster as replacement for Grant.
"I started in '07, and [my family] just kept telling me, be patient, be patient, your time is coming. And now that it's here, I know my wife is just excited," Jackson said. "I'm telling her, let's just play the game. Let's continue
to do what we did before I was the starter. Everything's going to work out."
To learn about Nance, we have to peep in the past. Nance was signed off the Atlanta Falcons practice squad, played four years at Arizona State, running for 1934 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Unfortunately Harrell also injured his left knee on Sunday while playing at Philadelphia, yet another setback for the team’s first round pick in the 2007 draft and has only played in 13 games continuously in his first three years
before a series of back problems.

McCarthy said that the Harrell will be placed on injury reserve and still in contract till 2012.

"It's difficult when you lose players to injury. We felt like Justin was going to make a contribution to our team," Thompson said. "The timing of his injury and the way it occurred was unfortunate."
Well, Wynn was the one of the first two round picks by Green Bay in 2009 and played as a rookie in last season’s 11 games. He was also released by the Packers in the final roster cut down earlier this month.
