Ryan Harris targets 2013 Ashes series - Cricket News Update
After crushing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RJ-Harris-c2330 is targeting the 2013 Ashes series to emulate the performance against Ashes rivals England and regain their world number one status.
32-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harris-c61739, who made a comeback in the Australian squad in the Perth Test after an extended injury layoff, expressed satisfaction over his side’s domination against the former world number one, India, and urged the side to continue improving if they
are to avenge the shambolic 2010-11 Ashes series.
"We're doing to India what England did to us a year ago," said Harris while talking to a leading Australian daily.
The injury prone http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 pacer further added that they are now more focused on bowling.
"So far we've got a success rate of 56 per cent in terms of getting the ball in the right spots. We want to get that up to 75-80 per cent. That's where we'll need to be against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013," said the Australian pacer who had missed the first two Tests of the series
due to injury.
Having spent a major part of his career on the sidelines due to recurring hamstring problems, the 32-year-old right-arm fast bowler does not want to be rotated in the future. However, he is well aware of the fact that the return of emerging pacers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Iftikhar-Ali-Khan-Pataudi-Nawab-of-c64075 Cummins,
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ben-Cutting-c1132 would make the competition quite tough.
Reminiscing his start at Perth, Harris admitted that he got quite frustrated when despite bowling well, he was not getting the wickets.
"At one stage there, I was getting quite frustrated but you've just got to keep going,” said the Australian pacer who has so far played nine Tests claiming 37 wickets at an average of 22.02.
“You beat the bat by a couple of centimetres and you think, 'If I just land the ball a centimetre or two across' but when you adjust you give away runs on the leg side and you release all the pressure," he added further.
Fourth and the final Test of the series begins at Adelaide Oval on January 24.
