Ryan Lochte accomplishes Men’s 100m breaststroke gold – 2012 GSC Summer Invitational
Ryan S Lochte of DBS-FL accomplished gold medal of the Men’s 100m breaststroke on last day of the 2012 Gator Swim Club Summer Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday June 5.
The 27-year-old Lochte, who made the world record of 200m Individual Medley (IM) at the 2011 Shanghai World Championships, went full rampant in the breaststroke discipline and secured the title of the event.
Lochte displayed his stunning form in the Men’s two-lap discipline and seized gold medal of the event by producing a time of 1 minute and 03.87 seconds.
The champion was trailed by Richard W Munch of MA-FL, who stayed 0.23 seconds apart and stepped on the medal rostrum for silver medal by submitting a time of 1 minute and 04.10 seconds.
The silver medallist remained 0.58 seconds faster from his following swimmer, Matthew D Elliott of PAWW-FL, who secured third position of the event by reporting a time of 1 minute and 04.68 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Jason S Coombs of BD-FL, who stayed considerably slower from his foregoing finisher and hit the finishing blockade with an effort of 1 minute and 05.29 seconds for fourth position.
Similarly, fifth position of the discipline was secured by Ben E Hesen of PACE-FL, who was 0.65 seconds apart and touched the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 05.94 seconds.
Hesen was chased by Matthew N Curby of BD-FL, who stayed considerably slower from his former finisher and posted a time of 1 minute and 11.55 seconds for sixth position.
Seventh position of the discipline was secured by Michael R Fonteno of BSS-FL, who was nearly three seconds apart and clocked 1 minute and 14.04 seconds.
The 16-year-old Fonteno was chased by his teammate, Joao P Steiner, who stayed 1.83 seconds apart and secured eighth position of the discipline by submitting an effort of 1 minute and 15.87 seconds.
Furthermore, the championship came to an end after the conclusion of all planned events while the position holders received medals and accolades for their gruelling efforts at the prize distribution ceremony of the tournament.
