Ryan Lochte acquires Men’s 200 yards IM gold – AT&T Winter National Championships
Ryan Lochte of UN02FL acquired gold medal of the Men’s 200 yards Individual Medley (IM) on day one of the 2012 AT&T Winter National Championships in Austin, TX, USA on Thursday, November 29.
Lochte, who is the world record holder of the 200m IM, went full rampant in his pet event and stifled hopes of his supporters by occupying the title.
With his notable efforts in the race, Lochte remained in a prominent lead over his toughest challenger and touched the wall for the crown by producing a time of 1 minute and 40.97 seconds.
The champion was followed by James Lendrum of USC-CA, who was 3.27 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end for silver medal by touching the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 44.24 seconds.
The second position holder was traced by Austin Surhoff of UT-ST, who stayed 0.15 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and concluded his race in third place by producing a time of 1 minute and 44.39 seconds.
Surhoff was chased by Ryan Murphy of BSS-FL, who was 0.04 seconds slower and touched the wall for fourth position by producing a time of 1 minute and 44.43 seconds.
Subsequently, fifth fastest qualification spot of the race was obtained by Austen Thompson of FORDAZ, who stayed 0.09 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and ended his race in a time of 1 minute and 44.52 seconds.
Sixth position was obtained by Chase Kalisz of NBACMD, who stayed 0.24 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and touched the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 44.76 seconds.
Kalisz was traced by Miles Joye of ZONAAZ, who was full body length apart and posted a time of 1 minute and 45.67 seconds.
Last position of the event was obtained by Gunnar Bentz of DYNAGA, who stayed 0.12 seconds slower from him and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 45.79 seconds.
In addition, Lochte was overjoyed with his easy win in the 200 yard discipline and collected medals and accolades for his notable forms at the prize ceremony of the event.
