Ryan Lochte secures Men’s 200m IM gold – Swimming News
Ryan Lochte of Daytona Beach secured a gold medal in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) on final day of the 2013 Arena International Grand Prix at the George F. Haines International Swim Center on Sunday, June 2.
The 28-year-old impressed his supporters by dominating the playoff of 200m event. With his notable efforts, Lochte stayed in a comfortable lead over his challengers and rushed his way towards the finishing end for first position.
He stayed in a comfortable lead over his supporters and overwhelmed the fastest qualifying swimmer of the race by producing an effort of 1 minute and 58.07 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Conor Dwyer of Una Gsc-FL, who was 2.12 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 00.19 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Chase Kalisz of North Baltimore, who was full body length slower and transpired on the finishing end for bronze medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 01.11 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Tyler Clary of Club Wolverine-M, who was one and a half body length slower from his preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 02.39 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Kyle Whitaker of Club Wolverine-M, who was nearly a half body length slower from his preceding swimmer and concluded his swim in a time of 2 minutes and 02.83 seconds.
Sixth spot of the discipline was obtained by Josh Prenot of California Aquatics, who was 0.08 seconds ahead of his closest competitor and ended his race in a time of 2 minutes and 02.91 seconds.
Prenot was traced by Fernando So da Silva, who was considerably slower from his former finisher and secured seventh place by posting an effort of 2 minutes and 04.74 seconds.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Gunnar Bentz of Dynamo Swim Club, who was just 0.01 seconds behind and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 04.75 seconds.
Last spot of the discipline was secured by Adam Hinshaw of California Aquatics, who was 0.32 seconds behind and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 05.07 seconds.
In addition, Lochte was extremely happy with his top finish in the race while the winners received medals and accolades after the race.
