He is deffinately deserving of a consideration for it. He is tearing up the league, although I highly doubt it will be him. I hope he wins it!

He has just a good a shot as say Chase Utley does for the Phillies. Ludwick has had a breakout year and well deserves at least a look for MVP, but unfortunately I believe that Utley will get more press/votes as well as Ryan Braun in Milwaukee.

Home runs and RBIs are the most overrated categories that people look at, and even so, Pujols is not that far behind (5 HR, 12 RBI) in 4 less games.  Pujols is second in the league in BA and has 2.5 MORE RC/Game!  IMO, that offsets the HR and RBI differences.  Ludwick is a good story, but pitchers pitch around Pujols to get to him and that is why his stats are inflated.  Pujols is Cardinals and NL MVP this year.

even though braun fans will cry when i say it, ludwick is much better.  They are tied in RBI's, ludwick is hitting 6 points higher in average, and has a higher slugging percentage (by a lot).  Not to mention braun has about 80 more at bats than him!  Ludwick is a candidate, and if he keeps up his pace he may actually get it, but if pujols has a good year it will be a split vote for them and neither will get it.

I'd like to see Lud get the NL MVP nod. He's played exceptionally well this season compared to last.
