I'm the biggest Pens fan in the world and I think Malone's inability to actually put the puck in the net was the Penguins downfall in the finals.  I think Fedotenko will actually score more goals this year than Malone although he played like a warrior.  Malone couldn't fight when he first came into the NHL but he practiced and now he can fight good.  He will have to score more to be in Espo's league though.

Anybody on this site that knows me, and anybody that is a friend of mine - knows that Ryan Malone is my favorite player... But i have to disagree with you on that comparison.

Perhaps Ryan Malone can make his way up to Phil Esposito's accomplishments some day - but Phil scored more goals on the regular basis than Ryan does right now.

I think Malone is a very overrated player

He just isn't a real "Finisher" I think Tampa is in for a big disappointment.

Well, he'd have to become a consistent 40 or 50 goal scorer to be in Espo's league.  He should get more of an opportunity to improve his stats in Tampa Bay under Melrose.  He should get more playing time there than in Pittsburgh.

malone is a joke! any player can get hit in the face with a puck. granted, he did stay in the game. but hes a 20 to 25 goal scorer a year. THATS IT!!! and to the dip-s#%t who said hes going to get more playing time on the lighting........you are an idiot!!! he was on the #1 power play unit for the pens and a first line winger most of the time or on the 2nd unit with malkin.  will the lighting let him have 30 minutes of ice time? NO! i dont know how he will get more playing time. so please help help me understand how. oh, he was also on the penalty kill unit! more ice time with the lighting? WOW.
