Ryan McLean and Michelle Fischer dominate 200m back-stroke event – 2011 Jimi Flowers Classic
Ryan McLean of Unttached and Michelle Fischer of California Capital Aquatics – SN, won the gold medals of the 200m back-stroke in the S5 and S6 Multi-Disability categories respectively, on the final day of the 2011 Jimi Flowers Classic.
The 30-year-old Mclean dominated the distance back-stroke swim in the S5 category with her gruelling efforts and stayed prominently away from her following swimmers, by clocking a time of 4 minutes and 51.37 seconds.
In the same manner, Fischer was the fastest swimmer of the S6 category, who touched the wall for the gold medal by clocking a time of 3 minutes and 52.10 seconds. She was followed by Ira A Kaplan of pro Swimming – PN, who was almost seven seconds behind her and touched the finishing wall in a second fastest time of 3 minutes and 59.03 seconds for the silver medal. They were followed by Kimberly Sutton of Team St. Lukes, who finished her swim in a third fastest time of 6 minutes and 03.40 seconds.
In the S7 Multi-Disability category, Mallory E Weggeman of Black Dog Swimming–MN was the top fastest swimmer who conquered the top of the podium, by touching the wall in a time of 3 minutes and 06.40 seconds.
Moments later, the 15-year-old Amy M Chapman of Academy Bullets Swim Club-IL was the fastest swimmer of the S8 event, who touched the wall for the golden crown by clocking a time of 3 minutes and 31.88 seconds.
In the meantime, 9-9-9 K Stone of USA Resident Team-CO remained evident for the gold medal in the S9 category and earned the title of the event by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 42.79 seconds. Subsequently, Suzanne E Scott of USA Resident displayed an acknowledging swim in front of the arena and touched the wall for gold medal, by producing a time of 2 minutes and 41.63 seconds.
The arena applauded for the remarkable swims of disable swimmers, who were engaged with each other for claiming the title of the 200m event in their respective categories.
