Ryan Miller back at Buffalo Sabres practice
Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller was back at practice on Monday 8 November after the veteran took the weekend off to rest a sore muscle in his leg.
Miller has not played since he complained about a sore muscle after the club’s overtime loss to the Atlanta Thrasher on 29 October.
The 30-year-old is said to still be battling the injury, and although he has returned to practice, he is not in game shape. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff stated that he doubted Miller would be back in time for the team’s game against the New Jersey Devils
on Wednesday 10 November, and did not expect last year’s Vezina Trophy winner to be ready for their game against the New York Rangers the following day.
The earliest Miller is expected to get into the line-up is the team’s game on Saturday 13 November against the Washington Capitals.
The Sabres have gone 1-3 while Miller’s been injured and will be keen on getting the net-minder back into the line-up. Jhonas Enroth has been named the starter in Miller's absence and has struggled, playing to a.865 save-percentage and a 3.57 goals-against
average.
Regardless of who has played in net this season the Sabres have struggled. The squad currently sits at the bottom on the Northeast Division and 14th in the Eastern Conference with only 10 points. The team’s nine losses on the season is second
worst in the National Hockey League.
Buffalo has had trouble scoring, sitting 26th in the League in goals per game, and has not been getting much help from their defence core, as they allow the fifth most goals per game in the NHL.
Miller has slumped along with the rest of the club. In 10 starts this season, he has a 3-5-2 record and is struggling with a .903 save-percentage and a 2.71 goals-against-average.
