Ryan Miller may miss Buffalo Sabres game against Boston Bruins
Buffalo Sabres starting goaltender Ryan Miller may be unavailable when his club takes on the Boston Bruins on Wednesday 3 November.
It was reported that Miller has a lower body injury, which head coach Lindy Ruff maintains is not a groin injury. Miller was forced to sit out of the Sabres work out on Monday 1 November and was back at practice on Tuesday, but only for a short time. Ruff
says that he will not make his decision on whether or not to start Miller until Wednesday morning.
The Sabres would certainly love to have Miller in the line-up against a streaking Boston side, which currently sits at 6-2 and is coming off back-to-back shut-outs. The Sabres will be hoping that Miller is healthy enough to engage in a goaltending battle
with the League’s best goalie in Tim Thomas.
The Sabres would like to have their starting net-mind in an important divisional game, especially after the team has gotten off to such a slow start. Buffalo is currently sitting at the bottom of the Northeast division and is third last in the Eastern Conference
with a 3-7-2 record. Buffalo has struggled at both ends of the ice, sitting 22nd in the League in goals per game and 23rd in goals against per game.
Unfortunately, Miller’s play has mirrored that of his team. The 30-year-old has had trouble getting going this season and currently sits with a 3-5-2 record. Miller was stellar in 2009-10 and was considered the main reason the Sabres had such a surprising
year. Without extraordinary play from their starting tender, the Sabres have struggled in 2010-11.
The Sabres will be at home when they take on the Bruins in HSBC Arena.
Miller owns a .903 save-percentage and a 2.71 goals-against-average.
