Ryan Nelson conquers Men’s 400m IM prelims – Speedo Junior National Championships
Ryan Nelson of Golden West Swim conquered the preliminary rounds of Men’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) on day two of the 2012 Speedo Junior National Championships at Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis on Tuesday, August 14.
The 18-year-old Nelson demonstrated his stupendous efforts in the eight-lap IM discipline as he rushed his way towards the finishing blockade for first position.
Nelson enjoyed a comfortable lead over his opponent in the distant IM discipline as he rushed his way towards the finishing blockade for top position by producing a time of 4 minutes and 27.37 seconds.
With his notable efforts, he remained 0.70 seconds ahead of Brandon Flynn of York YMCA-MA, who made his way to the finishing blockade as second fastest swimmer by reporting a time of 4 minutes and 28.07 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Andrew Seliskar of CUBU-PV, who suffered a loss of only 0.05 seconds and secured third fastest qualification spot of the race by producing a time of 4 minutes and 28.12 seconds.
Seliskar was followed by Samuel Smiddy of AK Sharks-FG, who stayed 0.10 seconds behind and finished fourth in the race by producing a time of 4 minutes and 28.22 seconds.
Smiddy was traced by Robert Owen of Crimson Aquatics, who was 1.12 seconds apart and completed his race in fifth fastest spot by reporting a time of 4 minutes and 29.34 seconds.
The 16-year-old Owen was followed by Eugene Tee of Team Santa Monica, who was 0.02 seconds away from his former finisher and ended his race in sixth best place by producing a time of 4 minutes and 29.36 seconds.
The 18-year-old Tee was followed by Austin Quinn of Lake Erie Silver, who was 0.07 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and submitted a time of 4 minutes and 29.43 seconds.
Eighth fastest qualification spot of the race was obtained by Steven Stumph of Orinda Aquatics, who remained 0.19 seconds slower and clocked an effort of 4 minutes and 29.62 seconds.
Furthermore, Nelson was overjoyed with his gruelling form in the discipline and stated that he would try his best to do the same in playoff.
